Christmas music

I was playing Christmas songs one morning when Gabbie asked "Mommy, what's that sound?"

I said "That's Christmas music."

She said "Ah.. I like Christmas music Mommy. I want to dance Christmas music."

Then she went down and danced slowly to the tune of "Christmas in our Hearts".

From then one, for anything related to Christmas, she uses the word "Christmas" to describe it- Christmas bag, Christmas plate, Christmas paper (for the gift wraps), Christmas glass, etc.

I think she will grow up loving Christmas like me.

It's my most favorite time of the year.

Ceelin Plus Baby :)

Gabbie was breastfed for 22 months. During that time, I can not remember any instances that we brought her to the hospital due to illnesses (thank God for that). But when she was weaned from mommy's milk and shifted to formula, we had to supplement it with the necessary vitamins and her pediatrician prescribed Ceelin Plus to enhance her resistance against infection and common illnesses. True enough, even when cough and colds became "uso" during the cold season, she did not get sick. Well, she might have caught some virus but she recovered quickly without the need for other medications because aside from mommy and daddy's TLC, she was protected with Ceelin.

Now that she no longer drinks milk (almost), we have to make sure she eats balanced meals and that should include fish, chicken, vegetables and fruits. So far she's been good. And I think it's also because of her vitamins that she's so "maganang kumain".

She will be going to school soon, and this will expose her more to bacteria and viruses, and maybe more pollution. This also means more physical activities for her. But of course we shouldn't be worried because she takes her daily dose of Ceelin Plus which gives her the essential nutrients Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) and Zinc  to boost her immune system and increase her appetite.

Bye Bye Milk! Bye Bye Diaper :)

Daddy sneezed three times in a row. I asked him, "Daddy, are you sick?" Gabbie- pa-bibo as usual- asked the same, twice- "Daddy are you sick? Daddy are you sick?" When daddy didn't reply, she just said "Mommy, daddy is sick. I'm SEVEN!"

I was feeling low one morning and I unconsciously sighed "Haaay". Gabbie asked, "Mommy, are you OK?" When I shook my head, she embraced me said, "Mommy, you like to kurot my big PO-WET?"

*powet is puwet. she knows that my favorite thing to do when I'm so gigil with her is to pinch her big butt and we both giggle after that.

Last night is our first attempt to let Gabbie sleep without diaper. It's a success! She didn't wet the bed and when she woke up this morning , the first thing she did was pee in the CR.

Several months back she stopped drinking milk during daytime. She'd drink milk only before going to bed, every day. On September, it became every other night, or every other two nights. Then for a week or so now, no more milk at all.

So she's a big girl now and we're saying BYE BYE to formula and diapers! Isn't that great? :)

Storytelling @ Fully Booked (Eloise and her Hat)

Gabbie attended again a storytelling session at Fully Booked Bonifacio High by the Cambridge Child Development Center (Serendra).

We were there early so while waiting for the other kids, Gabbie and the other kids already present were given crayons and pictures to color. They also sang some warm up songs and as expected, Gabbie requested her faves Eensy Weensy Spider and I Have Two Hands.

There were already four kids but when 3:30 came and no other kids joined them, Teacher Michele already started. This time they read a book about a cat (?) named Eloise who was trying to find the perfect hat for her. So at the end of the storytelling, the kids were given materials to decorate their own hat.

With the help of mommy and the other teacher, Gabbie was the first to finish jazzing up her violet hat. She wanted to put a moon on top of the hat so it looked like this:

They ended the session with a goodbye song and the kids were given balloons.
We're looking forward to the next storytelling session at Fully Booked BHS. It's free and it's very educational.

Gabbie's Christmas Tree

Santa Claus made us feel the spirit of Christmas thru Gabbie's kind-hearted Ninongs and Ninangs as early as October.
Now we already have the decors, recycled from previous years. The only new this Christmas is the tree, and Gabbie has been bugging me to take a picture of her beside her first Christmas Tree.

(sorry for the poor picture quality, i just used my phone and there's no sufficient lighting)

Trick or Treat (Princess or Little Santa?)

Gabbie joined 300+ kids in the Trick or Treat at Sta Lucia Mall last October 31. She dressed up like a royal princess in her shining red dress and velvet robe that made other people think she was also a kiddie Santa.
