Rafa's New Bike
No more dangerous rides on ate's bike, she now has her own. I just got it this morning and she's like glued to it already. Looks like we're gonna have everyday walk around the village, morning and afternoon.

Summer activity
Taekwondo, for a change.
One time, Gabbie and her friends were playing hide and seek. When it was her turn to be "taya", she threw a fit. Tantrums galore. I asked why, and she said because she didn't want to be "taya".
Later that night, I explained to her that it's ok to be "taya", that in every game, there's a winner, there's a loser. She protested. I heard a lot of "I don't want to be a loser!" screams. I told her it's ok to be a loser sometimes, but she has to do her best the next time she joins any game so that she will become a winner.
For a child who has no idea or concept of losing, it was hard to explain. So I kept on explaining to her every time she lost in "bato bato pick" or even in simple activities like finishing the food or dressing up.
This summer, instead of enrolling her to a swimming class, we tried taekwondo for a change. We're hoping that through this sport, she will learn to control her emotions and will appreciate how it is to lose and strive to do her best to eventually win.

1st Honorable
Gabbie got three medals again from her Kinder 1 class- 1st Place in Spelling Bee, Most Enthusiastic Student and 1st Honorable Mention.
Their Moving On Ceremony was held last March 14 in their school, Brightstar.

Little Lady
During the pictorial in the school. Pictures will be included in their folio that will be given with their report card and certificate during their moving on ceremony.

That's the name of their new brother.
Just kidding.
It's the new member of the family, a gray Montero that replaced our beloved Zach, the Honda City. We wanted a car that has enough space for the four of us and the things that we bring when we go out. We wanted a car where there's space for Gabbie when she falls asleep on board. But most importantly, we wanted a car that can survive the usual flood that happens during the rainy season.
So here he is, with his cute and happy (to have him) models.

Practice writing
Tomorrow will be the last day of Gabbie's final exams. But it will just be Writing and Computer so we're not that stressed to review, except for a little practice in writing her name, the alphabet and the numbers.
After she wrote those, I thought I should give her more, something that could also practice her "copying" skills. So I made her copy my breastfeeding calendar message on the pad paper.
She almost did it perfectly, except for some missing letters and the last word that she intentionally did not complete because "there will be no more space" for something else that she thought of writing.
When she showed it to me, instead of feeling disappointed at the misspelled words and crooked strokes, I was touched with what she had written at the end of her piece. She showed it to me proudly, accompanied with a hug. Isn't this the sweetest thing to receive from your five-year old? :)

Daddy's Little Girl
Last night she said she has a song for daddy. I thought its 'the man who cant be moved' but when i asked her to sing it, the lyrics went "i miss you daddy... I love you daddy... Why do you have to go to Germany... I love you forever... Daddy..."
Then earlier, after our bedtime story, I told her to sleep already. She said she didnt want to close her eyes.
Because she's "gonna miss daddy".

Pastime
Since Gabbie was small, she's been exposed to a lot of books of different kinds- picture books, coloring books, story books, drawing and even musical and a few activity or work books. So she grew up "reading" and actually started reading when she just turned four.
Now its the same with Rafa. When she's not hungry, sleepy or wet, I usually find her sitting in corner flipping through the pages of her board books. Sometimes she reads magazines and her Ate's books. Sometimes I find them sitting side by side deeply engrossed with their own reading materials.
I will not be surprised if Rafa too starts to read at a very young age.
That is a habit that would be hard to break.

Look alikes :)
These are Gabbie's pictures taken in a studio a few weeks after she turned one. I intentionally kept this cute shirt that she was wearing (given to her on her birthday by her Ninang) for Rafa.
Yesterday, four years later, we brought Rafa to the same studio wearing the same shirt.
Hehe.
